Teams form due to product development process. The most common roles are product owner, scrum master and development team.
There are three primary roles in the Scrum framework:
Scrum Master
The Scrum Master is in charge of facilitating the Scrum process. A Scrum Master ensures that the team follows Scrum values, practices, and rules. Moreover, The Scrum Master is not a team leader or manager, but rather a coach and facilitator who assists the team in self-organization and management.
Product Owner
A Product Owner is in charge of maximizing the value of the product and the Development Team’s work. They represent the interests of stakeholders and are the customer’s voice. In addition, the Product Owner is in charge of defining the product’s features. They prioritize the Development Team’s work.
Development Team
Development Team is in charge of delivering a potentially shippable product increment at the end of each Sprint. Furthermore, the Development Team is self-organizing and cross-functional. Which possess all of the necessary skills to complete the work. The Development Team is typically small, consisting of 5-9 people, and all members work full-time.
Other important roles in Scrum include stakeholders such as customers and users, as well as the organization or enterprise that is using Scrum. Without Scrum, there may be less collaboration between team members, which can lead to silos and a lack of communication. Thus, it can result to a lack of clarity about project goals and priorities, which can lead to delays, misunderstandings, and rework.
